PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM OVERVIEW-80hrs.

The 80 hours Phlebotomy Technician course broken out into 8-hour sessions which take place over 10 consecutive Saturdays, provides initial education for Phlebotomy technicians and other current or prospective healthcare professionals preparing for phlebotomy clinical training and practice. The course is tailored to learning styles that promotes retention of key concepts through interactive lectures, multimedia presentations, group discussions and activities, and hands-on lab practice. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to sit for the National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.

As a CPT, you may perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Perform basic phlebotomy procedures

  • Evaluate patients for ability to withstand venipuncture procedure

  • Explain the venipuncture procedure and answer patient questions

  • Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients

  • Prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards

ENTRY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements:

    1. High school/ GED or Any form of Diploma or proof of training

    2. Valid identification

    3. Copy of Social Security Card

    4. Satisfactory Criminal Background Check

    5. CPR from Red Cross or American Heart Association

    6. PPD/Chest X-Ray

 

Admission Process:

  • Fill application form online and pay the following fees online:

  • Application fee ……………… $75.00 (non-refundable)

  • Deposit ………………………. $225.00 (to secure a seat in the program, amount is deductible from tuition)

  • Total ………………………….. $300.00

If an applicant decides not to pursue admission into the program or does not show up in class at all, the amount of $225 shall be refunded.
