PHLEBOTOMY COURSE OVERVIEW - 80 HOURS : HYBRID

The 80 hours Phlebotomy Technician course broken out into 8-hour sessions which take place over 10 consecutive Saturdays, provides initial education for Phlebotomy technicians and other current or prospective healthcare professionals preparing for phlebotomy clinical training and practice. The course is tailored to learning styles that promotes retention of key concepts through interactive lectures, multimedia presentations, group discussions and activities, and hands-on lab practice. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to sit for the National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.

As a CPT, you may perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Perform basic phlebotomy procedures

  • Evaluate patients for ability to withstand venipuncture procedure

  • Explain the venipuncture procedure and answer patient questions

  • Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients

  • Prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards

  • Benefits of obtaining a Phlebotomy Certification may include: more job opportunities, an increased pay scale, job security, and increased subject matter expertise

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Official English translated high school transcript (noting graduation) and/or GED required.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Interested applicants must submit their application online or in person and pay a NON REFUNDABLE Application fee of $75.00

  • Applicants must furnish the school with the following documents subsequently: ID, SSN card, PPD/Chest X- Test, Valid CPR and criminal background Check

If an applicant decides not to pursue admission into the program or does not show up in class at all, the amount of $225 shall be refunded.

   Applicants MUST be prepared to present the original copies of ALL DOCUMENTS during the interview stage of the admission process.
